Hillcrest is practically the geographic center of the city of San Diego. Located in the Uptown District, north of downtown, Hillcrest is more like a village than an urban center. Hillcrest has great bus access and you can walk to just about anything you need. Parking is a definite problem depending on the block so make sure you arrange off-street parking or a street-parking permit for your apartment or house rental.
